Yaeger’s Matthew Turner to Receive National Award

Yaeger Architecture on March 30, 2018

Yaeger Architecture, Inc. is proud to announce that Vice President, Matthew Turner, is this year’s recipient of the Society of American Military Engineer’s Young Member Medal. This is a national award, presented to a young member that has exhibited outstanding leadership and accomplishments in support of the Society mission over one’s entire period of membership in the Society. Nominations are made by a Society member and endorsed by a Post President or member of the National Board of Direction. Matt has held a number of positions within SAME, culminating with his service as the SAME Greater Kansas City Post President  in 2017. Matt’s SAME portfolio includes serving as a Board Director, a post liaison to the National Architectural Practice Committee, post Treasurer, and post Vice President. In 2014, Matt also received the SAME Missouri River Regional Vice President’s Medal.

Matt credits his sense of leadership and dedication to his father, George, who served as a Vietnam era commissioned officer in the 101st Airborne. “My dad instilled in me a profound sense of purpose and character. He taught me that his service afforded me the opportunity, and responsibility, to find my path to serve our country. I have found that way within my profession and SAME” said Matt.

Matt will be presented with the SAME Young Member Medal at the 2018 JETC (Joint Engineer Training Conference & Expo) Society Ball & Awards Gala on Friday, May 25.

Congratulations Matt!
