Mark Twain Behavioral Health – Kirksville, Missouri

Yaeger Architecture is providing architectural and interior design services for the addition to Mark Twain Behavioral Health’s building in Kirksville. Mark Twain’s existing facility consists of two residential-style buildings with a central connector. The hipped-roof single-story structures are clad in brick and vinyl siding with asphalt shingles.

The new addition is 17,250 SF with two stories and a covered drop-off area. Façade updates to the existing structures will allow the existing and new phases to blend together. The new addition will connect to the existing buildings, and some services will remain in the existing space. The new addition will house the main lobby, therapist offices, clinic rooms, and group spaces on the first level. The second level will be for administrative offices, training rooms, and an employee break room; a satellite coffee bar will be located on the first level. The addition will be of commercial construction, including steel framing, steel deck, concrete floors, and interior finishes consistent in quality to first-class medical office space.

Construction Update

The structural steel framing is complete and the second floor decking has been installed. Crews are ready to pour the second floor slab and will begin on the roof soon. In addition, exterior stud installation has begun on the one-story portion of the building and exterior sheathing and metal studs are currently being delivered to the project site. We are so excited about this great project.
